1. Tell us a bit about yourself and what you were doing prior to buying an International Pairs License for your region?

We are 2 gents, who got together because of International Pairs, 56 and 60 years old.

Rolf retired from banking, Jorgen retired from the tourist industry.

We each have 2 kids and have both been playing golf in many years.

We reached a stage in our lives where we were ready to take on some new challenges and wanted to do something new and connected to golf.

The idea is to making our passion, golf, our business.

2. Why did you go down the Licensee route? And why did you choose an International Pairs License?

We love to play golf, and were both open for new opportunities and possibilities.

The International Pairs Licensee opportunity suited our needs and we saw a huge opportunity within the territory we wanted to operate in.

3. What were the benefits of obtaining an International Pairs License for your region?

An interesting business opportunity, we believed that IP would fit the Scandinavian market and we liked and believed in the guys from ZA.

The licensee model has no hidden costs and it is extremely affordable. With no financial sign up fees, we could generate income prior to having to pay out fees.

The fact that there are no additional costs other than the license fee ensured that we could do a profitable business plan that had no fluctuations.

The back-up and service from International Pairs is fantastic and they really hold your hand and guide you through the process.

4. How did Covid affect your International Pairs Business in your region? And how would you go about running the tournament during the pandemic?

We were planning to start in 2020 but with Covid that was not possible. The great news was that International Pairs demanded no license fee from us for that year, and actually assisted us in the relaunch of the event in 2021.

There are still some challenges this year with Covid conditions, rules and regulations changing but with the boom in golf and being adaptable in our planning we are excited about the immediate and long term future.

5. What is the most invaluable piece of advice you could give someone looking to run the International Pairs in their region?

We think that it is very important to adapt the concept to something that both fits the local market and that fits you as licensees. IP gives you freedom to adapt to your market, which is a very important advantage.

Things change from time to time due to circumstances beyond your control. Plan properly and be adjustable to seize opportunities when they present themselves.

6. In your opinion, what makes a successful International Pairs Licensee?

We believe in keeping the organization simple and the quality high, grow good partnerships and work hard. How often can people say they do what they love as their job? We can.

7. Have you found anything particularly challenging?

Yes, to actually make each golf club embrace IP as a new tournament. We have used a lot of time getting in touch with each Golf Club.

8. What do you enjoy most about running the International Pairs in your region?

We believe in our product and therefore believe in our success.

That we through IP get in contact with the entire golf market. It is interesting and fun and we can form exciting partnerships, make new friendships and start to see unexpected business opportunities.

It is also a privilege to work within the golf industry doing what we love.

9. What are your plans for the future?

To build up IP in Scandinavia to become a brand all golfers know about and to make it an inclusive and popular Golf Tournament for all golfers.
