Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced it franchisees for North London and Harrow, Richard and Gargi Sequeira, are expanding and have purchased the additional franchised territory area of Enfield. The couple will now supply Card Connection’s high quality range of greetings cards and accessories to more than 340 retail outlets within their area.

Richard Sequeira comments: “We joined Card Connection as franchisees in 2011 and so far have focused on building relationships with our retail customers. We deliver to a mix of independent newsagents and national retail accounts such as BP, Shell, Budgens, Londis, Spar ,Nisa and more In each store we create a stunning display of greeting cards which we supply on a ‘consignment’ basis. This means the retailer only pays for what they sell and so shop managers are always keen to carry our stock.

“The franchise has been going really well so when the Enfield territory became available we decided to jump at the chance to expand further,” continues Richard. “Card Connection’s staff and our business development manager, Penny Gelman, has been really supportive to help us get up and running quickly in-time for the Christmas season which is a very busy time in the greetings card industry.”

Before joining Card Connection, Gargi was a class-room assistant in a Montessori school and Richard was a design consultant in a bathroom showroom business, where he initially remained part-time before becoming full time with Card Connection this year.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Since the franchise network in Ireland and the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7k + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.

Territories currently available include: Southend-on-Sea, Plymouth, Nottingham/Grantham, Manchester, Cardiff, Southport/Wigan, Macclesfield/Buxton, Dundee/Kirkcaldy.
