Card Connection Raises Funds for Macmillan Cancer Support by Tackling GRIM Challenge

Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection’s head office team has raised over £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support by completing the 8 mile ‘extreme mud run’ known as the GRIM Challenge held in Aldershot last week. Six staff from the head office team based in Farnham, including managing director Michael Johnson and Business Development Manager Andy Bull, negotiated mud, obstacles and ran, waded and crawled through freezing water to complete the course held at the Aldershot Army’s vehicle testing tracks.

“It was so cold that we couldn’t feel our feet after going through the water!” explains Michael Johnson, managing director of Card Connection. “However, the weekend event was well supported by hundreds of people in the local community and great fun. As a company, we regularly support a number of different charities over the year and the staff from Card Connection that participated on this occasion were delighted to be able make a contribution to Macmillan Cancer Support in this way.”

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of the largest publicly owned greeting card publisher in the world. The company has a nationwide team of franchisees who supply Card Connection’s quality range of more than 1,500 greeting cards to retailers throughout the UK.

Card Connection is currently recruiting for franchisees that are keen to run an expanding business.  Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.  Since the franchise network in the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20k (+stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum.
