Card Connection’s New Irish Franchisee is Ready for Business

Ex-publican, Gabriel McGeown, has been appointed as the new Irish franchisee for leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection.

Gabriel who has bought the Armagh and South Tyrone regions will also take on part of the County Down area as part of Card Connection’s strategy to encourage franchisees to take advantage of economies of scale through running bigger businesses.

“Gabriel’s experience in managing a large team of people in his previous role as a busy pub and restaurant owner will make him ideally placed to manage an expanding Card Connection franchise,” confirms Andrew Cutler, franchise director at Card Connection.  “Gabriel has already acquired two vans, a warehouse and is employing a former colleague, so now he’s really ready for business.

“We have found that our most successful franchisees and those that run the most profitable operations run larger territories, usually employing a small team of staff to pack and distribute cards from a warehouse, using liveried vans,” continues Cutler.  “Therefore, we are encouraging both existing and new franchisees to take up the option of managing a more substantial operation.  Gabriel has already stepped up to this challenge by adding part of the County Down area to his new territory.  As a result – once he is up and running – he will undoubtedly see the benefit of this strategy in significantly improved profit margins.”
