Caremark (Newcastle) Care Worker Michelle McGhee has recently completed the final part of the judging process for the final round of the Great British Care Awards 2014, which was held on the 30th April in London.

Michelle won the regional award for home care worker for the North East at the end of last year and went forward with the other regional finalists to meet the judging panel at Grosvenor House in London. All finalists were interviewed by the panel and invited to make their final presentations in a bid to take the top prize of Great British Home Care Worker of the Year.

The Great British Care Awards acknowledge and pay tribute to the many dedicated staff who work within the care sector, enabling vulnerable people in their communities to lead more fulfilling and independent lives. They represent the very best of social care practice and are a credit to their companies and social care as a whole.

Donna Hillary, Care Manager with Caremark (Newcastle), also travelled up with Michelle, as she was instrumental in nominating Michelle for this special award. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner to be held at the Grosvenor House Marriott, London on the 6th June 2014. In the meantime, Michelle continues with her dedicated work of providing personalised care and support to her clients, supporting them to live safely and independently at
home.
