The home care company were invited to take part in the second wave of CQC testing in August this year and were delighted with their overall rating which was recorded as ‘good’ across their entire home care service.

The CQC carried out their inspection under Section 60 of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 as part of their regulatory functions. This inspection was planned to check whether Caremark (Barnsley) was meeting the legal requirements and regulations associated with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and to pilot a new inspection process being introduced by CQC which looks at the overall quality of the service.

Cathryn Fewster, Registered Care Manager, said: “We feel this is a fantastic achievement; we were rated as good in all five areas the CQC inspected. We have a terrific team of staff at Caremark, from our Care & Support Workers through to our Management Team. They work incredibly hard and truly care about the people that we serve and I am proud of them; this rating is a result of all their hard work!”

Caremark (Barnsley) Directors, Andrew Peace and Mark McKenning, together with Cathryn Fewster, Care Manager presented their care team with flowers and held an impromptu buffet as a token of their appreciation for the team’s fantastic efforts.

The South Yorkshire home care provider deliver bespoke care and support services to people of all ages, abilities and ethnicities who wish to remain living independently and safely at home. In addition they offer support services enabling people to access their local communities and thus maintain leisure activities and hobbies.
