Read this interview of one of Husse’s franchisees by The Hinckley Times.

Who are you?

My name is Jonathan Mason. I’ve lived in and around Sapcote for most of my life.

What do you do?

I’m a Husse Pet Nutritionist. Husse (pronounced Hoo-Say), which is a super healthy Swedish brand pet food for dogs and cats, and pet nutritionist, because I give free advice on our range of foods and general nutrition for cats and dogs. We sell the food and provide personal service with free local delivery too.

What made you start your business?

After spending nearly 26 years in the corporate world I opted for voluntary redundancy with a view to improving my work/life balance, reducing stress levels, and generally exploring something new and doing something more worthwhile.

My brother, who is also my business partner, has a very similar story. I wanted to do something more active and physical and he’d already looked into Husse as a company, concept and product and found them to be great.

What’s your bestseller?

We sell a complete range of super premium high quality natural dog and cat foods, and we also sell a high quality line of pro range foods aimed at breeders/kennels but also for individuals with multiple dogs or those on a tighter budget.

I’d have to say our bestseller is a hypoallergenic dog food called ‘Lamm & Ris’, which is made predominantly from lamb, salmon and rice – largely because it is really popular with the dogs.

How long have you been open?

As a franchise in Leicestershire we been actively trading now for one year since February 2015.

Husse as a global company has been trading for nearly 30 years and is in more than 50 countries worldwide.

How many people do you employ?

The company is made up of myself and my brother. We’re now also recruiting agents to work with us in the local areas to help spread the word and share the food. These roles are really flexible and can take as much time as the agent wants to put in.
