The Canine Creche Group announce the opening of a new franchise site, Harpenden Canine Creche, on the Batford Mill, Lower Luton Road, which has a pre-opening event for everyone to come for a tour on Saturday 17th February 2018 12 noon – 3pm.

With the dog population in the UK reaching 8.5 million and 24% of households owning at least one dog (Source PFMA), total spending on pet care in the UK is set to reach a record high of £4.6 billion this year, which is a 3pc increase on 2015 and a growth of 25pc since 2010.

The Pet Care (or Pet Pound) industry is at an all-time high and growth is still forecast and this has ensured the development of the Canine Creche or Doggie Day Care service offering.

The humanising of pets, and in particular dogs, is a fast growing trend in the UK and research by Mintel has revealed some interesting statistics which show that humanising pets is a key theme running through the pet care industry, with consumers making adjustments to their daily lives to accommodate pets as part of their families.

With this level of growth, the Canine Creche Group launched their franchise project late 2016 and with twelve sold thus far, they are capitalising on this growth industry.

Founder Candace Rose commented: “We are thrilled to be launching our business model throughout the UK, we have had an incredible response from the local community within Harpenden, clearly this is a service which is already greatly sought after, initially we will offer Day Care services and Puppy Party’s, additional services will also be added on at a later date.”

“Our service is critical for people who are at work all day and feel guilty about leaving Fido alone, or perhaps may have a non-dog friendly retirement hobby, a new puppy that needs socialisation skills developed in a safe way.”

The Franchisee team for Harpenden is led by local Michele Moore, who is the Operations Manager for the site and will head the four more that will follow across Hertfordshire.

Michele has been based at the mother ship for a few months, where she has been trained fully to be able to operate to exacting standards and she has learned industry specifics such as how to temperament test dogs to ensure that their suitability and safety always comes first.

Candace says “Our franchising project is very exciting, we intend to change the animal care industry for the better across the UK, and we believe our awards and reputation demonstrate that we are the organisation to do so.”

We would love to see dog owners for a fur-bulous fun packed time on the 17th February, join us for a tour, nibbles & fizz, dogs of course are welcome!
