Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor Card Connection has today announced the launch of its new 2013 range of sentimental keepsakes: Little Wishes. 20 new credit card sized designs, intended to be kept in a wallet or purse, are now being merchandised through Card Connection’s franchisee network to the retailers they supply across the UK.

“The new Little Wishes are designed as an impulse purchase,” explains Michael Johnson, managing director, Card Connection. “We know sentiment sells so designs cover

numerous occasions, including ‘Sister’, ‘Ten Reasons Why I Love You’ and ‘A Little Hug’. All come with their own envelope and are displayed in-store on an ultra-compact unit to help retailers maximise their use of space. 

“We are constantly updating our range of complementary products and gifts for our franchisees to offer alongside our extensive greetings card ranges,” explains Johnson. “Our franchisees can supply and merchandise these gifts at the same time as delivering cards, allowing retailers to diversify without any capital outlay. Our award winning ‘consignment’ business model means shop managers only pay for what they sell, so further development of our range in this way creates a win-win situation for franchisees and valued retail customers alike.” 

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, which is a subsidiary of one of the largest greeting card publishers in the world, and has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Suitable candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, and depending on the size of the territory, they could be expected to employ a small team, operate a small warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road. 

Since the franchise network in Ireland and the UK is complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £7k + Stock + Card Connection fee with earnings potential in excess of £50k per annum. 

Territories currently available include: Southend-on-Sea, Plymouth, Nottingham/Grantham, Manchester, Cardiff, Southport/Wigan, Macclesfield/Buxton, Dundee/Kirkcaldy.
