Sheffield Themed Board Game Raises Cash for Charity

FASTSIGNS® Sheffield has developed a special Monopoly style board game for the city’s John Lewis department store.

The board was designed and produced by FASTSIGNS at its signs and graphic centre in Chesterfield Road as part of John Lewis’ fundraising initiatives for the Beating Bowel Cancer charity. Well known roads in Sheffield feature in the game and the city’s two football teams, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United replace the traditional ‘utilities’ squares.

The concept was the brainchild of John Lewis marketing co-ordinator Elle Bradley-Cox. FASTSIGNS had already produced banners for the store’s car park so she asked owner Paul Allison if he could make a bespoke Monopoly style board.

“The game has been a great success,” said Elle, “I enjoyed putting it together and the partners (staff) at John Lewis had great fun combining raising over £1,000 for our nominated charity with playing ‘Partner Shopoly’ during their breaks and lunch hour. I am impressed with the service provided by FASTSIGNS. Wherever possible we like to use local suppliers and Paul couldn’t have been more helpful and professional.”

FASTSIGNS Sheffield employs nine people. Owner Paul Allison commented: “We’ve been designing and making signs and graphics for 15 years and are used to quirky requests from customers. In the past we’ve transformed portacabins to look like a double-decker bus so producing a Monopoly board was quite straight forward really! It was a good project to work on, and we’re pleased with the end result.”

FASTSIGNS offers a full range of custom signs and graphic products to businesses, including banners, posters and exterior and interior signage.
