Tanya Garwood prides herself on her meticulous research into companies – so when she decided to quit her 30-year career in the City of London and buy a franchise instead, she poured all her years of professional experience into choosing the right one.

Her research led her to The Wheel Specialist – the alloy wheel refurbishment experts – and she’s preparing to open for business in Aylesbury as the network’s 26th franchisee.

”When I decided to take the leap and look into franchising, I scoured the internet and came across a well-known franchise website,” she says.

“I looked at many options, but it had to be something I was interested in, so I decided to look at the motor trade.

“I’ve always had a fascination with cars as far back as I can remember – which may not seem strange – but neither of my parents drove, so I’m not sure where the interest came from.

“I looked at many other franchises, but somehow they didn’t seem enough. If I was going to make the biggest leap of my career and invest my life into it, it needed to be good and to grab me instantly.

“That’s when I found The Wheel Specialist. Everything I read about it was professional and, most importantly, it had a family feel to it.

“It was welcoming, even though I hadn’t spoken to anybody, so I decided to take the plunge and send my initial inquiry.

“From that very first phone call, I knew it was the right decision – and I’ve never looked back.

“What excites me most is joining the network and the wider family with the support and know-how that comes with it.

“I’ve been made to feel so welcome and I know everybody’s with me for the best possible start,” adds Tanya. “I’m ready to get going!”
