Theo Paphitis Award

Suffolk Canine Creche, a FUTURE50 “One To Watch” business, has received further acclaim by being chosen as one of only six businesses to feature on Small Business Sunday.

Theo Paphitis

Small Business Sunday, shortened to the hashtag #SBS on Twitter, was created by Theo who is best known for appearing on Dragons Den on BBC Two. He is chairman of Ryman Stationery, Boux Avenue lingerie and Robert Dyas, as well as joint owner of Red Letter Days.

Each week, Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their businesses in one tweet including the all-important hashtag #SBS. As he has over 450,000 followers, this provides a massive boost to the chosen lucky businesses.

The benefits range from increased Twitter followers to positive media publicity, and crucially for many, increased sales!

Candace Rose, business owner commented: “It is a fantastic accolade to be recognised by Theo, he does an enormous amount for small business and it was a lot of fun to enter. I encourage any business to participate.”

Apprentice Champion

Furthermore we have just appointed Josh Caley to the role of apprentice champion. Josh has finished his apprenticeship in Animal Management with us, and will continue his own personal development whilst undertaking ambassadorial duties to promote apprenticeships both locally and across the UK, as we roll out our expansion into new locations.

Candace Rose stated: “Josh is an incredible ambassador. He has had an interesting personal journey and is dedicated to bettering himself and developing both professional and soft skill sets. I believe his story will inspire the future generation of animal carers who will take this changing industry into the next century.”

“Josh will be visiting local schools to promote our future apprenticeships as well as travel to key locations that are targeted for expansion. If you are heading up careers in your local school, do contact Josh to arrange for a visit and a talk to your senior year.”

Customer service is at the heart of the business and all staff have been trained to deliver exceptional standards of service – not just in the front of house but behind the scenes in the creche, hotel, training centre and grooming spa.

Dog in a pink wig

The Bow-WOW© factor continues at SCC this week as we prepare for our charity campaign “Lets Get Wiggy With It”, supporting CLIC Sargent w/c 23rd May, where the staff and dogs will be wearing wigs to fund CLIC with their campaign to support children with cancer.

SCC continues to provide a number of new jobs to the area in canine care, and now grooming, and continues to grow its customer reach – they now have 22 staff.
