When the customer said 'frog', Paul hopped to it!

From time to time here at Clean Cut we get an odd request, as new franchisee Paul recently found out when filling in a customer’s pond turned into a frog rehousing project, fortunately both customers and frogs are now happy with their new surroundings.

After three months, 135 enquiries and a full diary, Paul is starting to forget what the fear of starting a new business felt like. Now he’s come across the first quirky job we warned him could happen from time to time.

You can imagine our surprise at Clean Cut HQ when Paul phoned us and asked ‘How do I charge for rehousing frogs?’ (And it’s more complicated than you think!) However in true Clean Cut style Paul rose to the occasion and got the job done filling in the customers two ponds and creating the garden they desired.

Prior to joining Clean Cut, Paul was a green keeper at his local golf club and was pouring in the hours working for someone else and as he puts it ‘not getting the recognition I deserved’.

“I wanted to run my own business,” said Paul. “But I was concerned that with my lack of business knowledge and know-how I might make a mess of it, so when I met Simon and the Clean Cut team I was immediately sold. They did not mention frogs in the recruitment process though,” he laughs.

Paul currently has the best conversion rate from enquiry to sale of any franchisee and is enjoying a successful start to his gardening career and is taking the residents of Skipton and Gargrave by storm.
