New South Bristol care provider to create five new jobs a month

The new Good Oaks Home Care team in Bristol South has opened their doors to the public.

The team, based on Bath Road in Brislington, recently received their Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration and is now open to the public and is recruiting carers. The company which pays industry-leading rates of pay to its carers is already recruiting and aims to bring on board five new carers a month. The Bristol South team provides live-in and visiting care to clients in their own homes in the Brislington, Knowle, Keynsham, Stockwood, Bedminster and North Somerset area.

Director Joe Deplae, 39, from South Bristol himself, said that he was inspired to start his own care business after spending several years as a carer himself. He said: “I wanted a business that would help people and provide a quality service to the community. I have worked a as carer myself, so I know what sort of care I want my team to provide. I want to create a reliable and dependable service that puts our customers at the heart of all our care. I think that looking after staff, and making retention of staff and their wellbeing as our number one priority, we can create a really strong, reliable business that people love to work with and work for.”

Previously Joe worked as a chef after studying politics at university, as a musician and taught cheffing skills to adults with learning disabilities. Finding that he enjoyed working with people and helping them, he moved into care and spent time as a carer, field care supervisor and care coordinator, before moving to work for the local authority in the Reablement Team.
