Information on Care Franchises Franchise Opportunities
Care franchises cover a range of UK franchising opportunities from the hiring out or retail of aids for the disabled to in-house one to one nursing care. With an ageing but relatively affluent population, the domiciliary and nursing services sector is estimated to be worth approximately £18 billion annually. Although there is an economic recession, most people rightly consider the care of the elderly and disabled to be a priority and so these services are still seeing an increase. The current thinking from the government and health professionals is for people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible, so buying a franchise in the care industry is a good long term investment. Sales of mobility scooters, stair lifts, easy-rise chairs and beds and various bath aids are booming. One option to paying for care is for a family member to become a carer, so all equipment to make their job easier is doing very well. Some need a degree of skill but a team of fitters would be available anyway to a flourishing franchise. Others need selling skill. All care franchisees do need to have natural empathy – although they make sound sense financially they are care and people oriented ahead of profit; it would be inappropriate to take on any franchise in the care sector without wanting to help.

Nursing and domiciliary care franchises normally need you to build a team around you, to allow for shifts, annual leave and other employment issues. Continuous care is the real name of the game in this part of the care franchise market and management skills are more important here than nursing. In this sector of franchising above all others, it is essential to be able to deliver a seamless and top quality level of service.
