Cathryn Hayes QFP, franchise director at Revive! UK, has been named as one of the 20 most powerful women in franchising worldwide.

The 2017 list, just published by Global Franchising magazine, highlights the fact that many of the top jobs in franchising are held by women who are playing a major role in shaping and guiding the industry.

Cathryn is one of just five from the UK to be included. Pip Wilkins QFP chief executive of the bfa, Susie McCafferty QFP managing director of Platinum Wave Franchising, Gemma Tumelty, managing director of The HR Department and Farrah Rose QFP from the Franchise Development Centre, join her in the Franchising Power 20.

Cathryn says, “Obviously it is a great honour and completely unexpected to be placed in the same company as those big industry names. There’s not enough women in senior roles within franchising and I’d like to see this change. Franchising is a great way to build a business irrespective of whether you are male or female, and the women in this group serve as an inspiration to others to show how it is possible to break through the glass ceiling.”

Cathryn was head of franchising at HSBC bank before joining the bfa as head of business support. She is now putting 20 years as an industry advisor to good use at Revive! where as a main Board member she is helping to oversee the next exciting phase of the company’s growth.

She was a judge for the prestigious bfa HSBC Franchisor and Franchisee of the Year awards for many years. She contributes regular articles to franchise press and other business media, as well as presenting at bfa seminars, conferences and exhibitions, franchising and business events.
