The leading branding and promotional products franchise held its Recognition Express Masters at the Hinckley Golf Club, with seven teams of four golfers taking part.

Leicester accountants MHA MacIntyre Hudson won the team tournament for the second year running, with Kally Singh from the firm achieving ‘nearest the pin’. Glen Livingstone of Apogee was the individual winner whilst ‘longest drive’ was claimed by Brian Everitt from the event’s principal sponsor Morgan de Vere.

Said managing director Nigel Toplis: “Everyone enjoyed the tournament and I’m delighted that we managed to raise such a significant amount of money for WellChild. Also, a big thank you to Morgan de Vere, Hamilton Pratt, MJH, Smith Partnership and Vinta for their kind sponsorship of the day.”

The event was a precursor to a 500k bike ride Nigel is undertaking for WellChild in October. He will take part in the intensive Saigon to Angkor Wat Cycle Challenge in temperatures of 90 degrees at 90 percent humidity.

Recognition Express head office has been supporting WellChild for over a decade and Nigel Toplis’ personal endurance challenges have raised over £50,000. To date, he has cycled across Cuba and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as trekking through the Sahara and the Sumatran jungle.

WellChild helps sick children and their families throughout the UK as they deal with the consequences of serious illness and complex conditions. The organisation’s mission is to reach as many children and young people as possible through focusing on care, support and research.
