Meet Gigi, our Franchise Partner in Hillingdon. Gigi has been trading as Kiddy Cook Hillingdon since March 2022 having worked with us as a Class Leader for several months. Prior to joining Kiddy Cook, Gigi had been working as a Marketing Executive with the Housing Association.

After being made redundant from my job as a Marketing Executive during the COVID lock down in 2020, I took this opportunity to explore my career options. I knew that I didn’t want to go back to the standard 9am-5pm office job. I wanted to do something completely unique and be excited about my work.

I am a mum of 2 beautiful cheeky boys – Danny (8yrs) and Grayson (5yrs) and I am incredibly passionate about baking and cooking.

I knew from a very young age that I loved being in the kitchen environment, baking cakes, biscuits, and desserts. At family gatherings, birthday parties, and friends’ events, I would surprise them by always bringing a delicious dessert. I am a huge fan of cookbooks such as Nigella Lawson, Lorraine Pascale and Jamie Oliver.

I felt like doing something meaningful and realised that I loved cooking, baking and children, so why not combine this into a career? I researched into children cooking franchises and came across Kiddy Cook. I spoke to Nikki several times and found her to be friendly, insightful, and patient in answering all my questions. There was an opportunity for a Class Leader in Pinner and she asked me if I was interested in the role. I thought this was the perfect chance to ‘test’ this before becoming a franchisee and it was the best decision I have ever made!

I enjoy teaching the children to cook, as they are learning life skills such as chopping, mixing, rolling and they get to explore new food. Each lesson is fun and educational and they feel so proud afterwards as they get to take their creations home to show to their parents (that’s if they haven’t eaten it all in the class)! As a result of being a Class Leader for several months, this naturally led me to make the final decision to become a franchisee with Kiddy Cook. There is so much support from Nikki and the other franchisees and I genuinely feel part of this team. There is a wealth of experience, knowledge and the training is of an excellent standard.

I am incredibly excited about the next 12 months to see how I am going to grow my business in after school clubs and parties in Hillingdon.
