“As well as being a busy mum, I’m also an actress and my husband Neil an actor who is currently appearing in Mamma Mia! in the West End. After having the children, I took a back seat with my acting in order to be there or a regular basis for the boys but as they got older, I was able to pursue my own career again.

“Neil and myself remembered Razzamataz from Dragons’ Den and after some research, felt that it was the right option for us. We could have launched our own theatre school but although we are both professional performers, running a theatre school and dealing with all the admin and business tasks are a completely different ball game and we felt that the support that a franchise could give us would work brilliantly for us, which it has.

“The support and training we get means that we can get help and advice on any aspect of our business and although it has been hard at times, it has also been a fantastic and rewarding way of working, allowing me to continue to be there for the family while running my own business. Neil’s work as an actor can take him away or mean that he is working very long hours so it was really important for me to have a job where I can be there for the children also. Opening Razzamataz Rickmansworth has allowed me to do just that and having a full, vibrant school and giving the students wonderful opportunities to perform and have fun is also incredibly rewarding for me personally.”
