Metro Rod drainage franchise owners are set to clean up, as the Metro Plumb management franchise opportunity opens the sluice gates on the lucrative UK plumbing market.

Already running established Metro Rod franchise territories, Metro Rod franchisees were approached first when Metro Services Group decided to expand their service offering with a new plumbing franchise, Metro Plumb.

One successful franchise owner to take advantage of the new model is the award-winning Peter Bedson, who is on his third renewable franchise agreement with Metro Rod and has been working the Warwickshire and Leicestershire territory for over 17 years.

With two support staff to help him manage a team of experienced drainage engineers, Peter won the ‘Best Customer Service’ award for Service Level Agreements at last year’s Metro Rod conference – and is aiming for more recognition and success in 2016.

Part of Peter’s planned growth involves his commitment to rolling out the new Metro Plumb model across his fleet of five vans, which have been fitted out for both plumbing and drainage work going forward.

With one qualified plumber already on staff for emergency contracts, Peters other 5 drainage engineers are undergoing their plumbing ‘conversion’ training so they can cover both roles as work demands.

“Our team have really enjoyed their training,” says Peter, “although they were capable of carrying out smaller plumbing tasks already, they’ve got a real boost from learning new skills and gaining extra knowledge. They’re now looking forward to the plumbing services adding even more variety to their daily work roles.”

Another bonus of adopting the new Metro Plumb franchise model is that franchise owners can use Metro Rod’s proprietary ‘Athena’ call logging and tracking system for both opportunities – saving admin and training time and enabling existing teams to hit the ground running.
