“I was looking to be my own boss but with no prior business knowledge a franchise made perfect sense. I was captured by the company ethos. Assisting people to live their life looked very appealing!

“Once I did my market research I realised the scope of the task to reach everyone that could benefit from the service. When there is so much requirement for a service, so many people that aren’t living how they want to, it was a no brainer for me to get involved.

“I will admit that it’s been a bit of a rollercoaster, particularly at the start when we were trying to build a solid client base and spread the daisy word. I’ve used Linked In for networking, Facebook to grow the brand recognition in my area, dropped leaflets which are great for being out there and of course have talked to hundreds of people face to face.

“We’ve worked hard and the rewards are now being seen! We get referrals from other users, social services, voluntary services, a PCSO recently, doctors and consultants, Memory Clinic, Age UK, MIND, MS Association, MND, local hospices and the list goes on.

“The most surprising part of running my own Driving Miss Daisy franchise in my local area is that I’ve extended my family and have acquired a number of ‘aunties’ and ‘uncles’ in the time that we’ve been operational.

“If I could give any advice to a new franchisee it would be to look at it seriously, talk to those already involved and try to walk away, I guarantee you won’t be able to!

“Driving Miss Daisy franchises provide a valued service that is becoming well known across the UK; we are making a difference to people and to be part of that is amazing.”
