"There is a genuine bond of trust that develops over time"

Jo Miller, owner of Driving Miss Daisy Ringwood, answers some questions about her journey as a Driving Miss Daisy franchisee so far.

Driving Miss Daisy franchise

Why did you open a Driving Miss Daisy franchise?

I wanted to be part of a new niche service that is very much needed in my local community. I had been looking at change in career and was thinking about care/social services.

Has there been anything unexpected that’s surprised you?

As a Daisy, you become so much more than transport and assistance. There is a genuine bond of trust that develops over time between a Daisy companion and their regular clients. Many clients are lonely or isolated and you can become a confident or counsellor.

What would you say to someone thinking about opening a Driving Miss Daisy franchise?

You need to be a business person/ entrepreneur who is able to commit to building a big franchise and assist the wider community around you with the service. The staff you hire need to be compassionate, genuine caring people who put the client first. Creating a caring yet professional image is what will grow your business along with your business skills.
