The original concept was launched in 1972 as a Miami steak and burger restaurant by colourful businessman Tony Roma. Tony loved nothing better than to throw a good party and serve good party food. His restaurant was a fun and funky establishment, where waitresses wearing go-go boots served steaks and burgers. Tony was known for rubbing elbows with celebrities like Tony Bennett, for making multiple marriage proposals and for a resume that included managing the world-famous Playboy Club.
Although the establishment bearing Tony Roma’s name is today recognised as the originator of baby back ribs in America, they were initially put to the menu on a whim. But because Chef David Smith’s delectable, unforgettable ribs were such a sensation, they ended up becoming the restaurant’s signature dish and garnered fans from all over the world.
Training and Support Provided
Setting you up for success from opening day and beyond.
A new Tony Roma’s location’s support programme really starts three to six months before opening day, with a specific focus on management training to make sure that every part of the business, from food preparation to finances, is as effective as possible.
For training in each position and area of Tony Roma’s restaurant, all MITs (Managers in Training) travel to the company’s headquarters. The restaurant is planned for optimal flow by Tony Roma’s training team as well, ensuring a flawless opening day.
We emphasise having fun while strengthening our reputation for hospitality as we train team members to be exceptional operators.
Who we are looking for at Tony Roma’s?
We are seeking investors with a minimum of $1 million liquid with a total of $3 million net worth. A solid history of restaurant and hospitality experience is preferred, plus a passion for hospitality and food.
