Branded goods experts Recognition Express in Horndean have produced t-shirts with an anti-piracy slogan for the Royal Navy’s patrol near Somalia.

The t-shirts feature a picture of the squadron’s kingfisher logo and a helicopter with the slogan: “you have not escaped”.

Caroline Dinenage owner of London Road based Recognition Express said: “It was great to be working with the crew of HMS Northumberland again. We had lots of fun coming up with the design for them.”

Recognition Express was chosen for the project because of their previous work supplying name badges, clothing and other promotional products to HM Ships including its latest warship HMS Daring.

The officers on HMS Northumberland were so delighted with the t-shirts that they went on to order glass awards from Recognition Express for an ‘Iron Man’ marathon competition in Mombassa in aid of a local orphanage.

Andy Jamieson who placed the order said: “The first batch of t-shirts was a great success on board and we’ve had to order more to keep up with demand”.

Added Caroline, “This kind of work is what we’re all about. The t-shirts inspire team spirit and boost morale – just what you need when you’re spending months away from home!”
