The year has got off to an impressive start for father and son team Trevor (59) and Mark Davies (28) who are joint owners of FASTSIGNS in Huddersfield. In December sales topped £100,000, winning them the accolade of best performing FASTSIGNS team in the country, with no sign of orders slowing down during the first two months of 2010.

The company was set up in 2005 and specialises in signs and graphics. Located on the Hoyer Industrial Park in Leeds Road it now employs seven people.  It has invested in the latest machinery including a CNC flatbed router and an engraving machine for plaques and braille/tactile signage to keep at the forefront of the signage industry.

But it’s not just the business that is flourishing. Son Mark is an accomplished motor racing driver who last year won the Ginetta G20 British Championship and was rated 4th best in country by Motorsport News.  He’s now been promoted into the G50 Championship by his team Optimum Motorsport and will be running on the British Touring Car package beginning at Thruxton over the Easter Weekend watched by main sponsor Cardowan Creameries who have sponsored Mark throughout his 10 years of competitive racing. All races will be broadcast on live TV which attract a big following.

“There’s no big secret to our success – we just work very hard and demand the highest possible standards from ourselves and all of the team. The name FASTSIGNS is something we have to live up to – customers expect top quality signs fast – and that’s what they get!” said Trevor.

“This determination has obviously helped Mark with his racing too – there’s only one position that the Davies’ and FASTSIGNS want to be and that is always first.”
