Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced that it has selected a new franchise manager, Scott Gibson, for the South East region, covering Leicester to London, plus East Anglia and Sussex.

Gibson will take over responsibility for providing help and support to 20 franchisees in territories across this region.

“My retail background will allow me to provide a structured sales approach for franchisees,” confirms Gibson. “With the backing of Card Connection’s head office, the well organised support team, plus the resources of parent company UKG to draw on, I am looking forward to making a valuable contribution to helping franchisees accelerate the profits of their individual businesses. Opening new retail accounts where franchisees will supply Card Connection’s vast range of quality greeting cards and innovative party accessories will be key to my approach, as well as working closely with retailers to see how we can optimise the level of stock in existing outlets.”

Scott Gibson has 18 years’ sales experience, having worked in organisations including: The Great British Card Co, SJG Agencies (main agent for Wishing Well Studios Ltd and Abracadabra gifts), Carlton Cards Ltd, Paper Island Greetings Ltd, Gala UK Ltd, Sapphire Greetings and Gibson Greetings International Ltd.

Card Connection is part of UK Greetings, the largest publicly owned greeting card publisher in the world and has limited vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50K per annum.
