Robert and Ian initially bought the business in 2009. Prior to that they both worked at Driver Hire’s Bradford recruitment office. Since taking over the business they’ve grown annual turnover to in excess of £1m. Along the way they’ve received numerous accolades for business achievements; they’ve moved to new offices which were opened by Sheffield politician Lord Blunkett. In addition staff member, Elisha Bowen, was voted Driver Hire’s 2018 Regional Recruitment Consultant of the year.

“Driver Hire is a great business to be involved with,” says Robert. “It’s a great place to work, we have a great team with amazing candidates. Every day is different and there’s not a day we don’t enjoy going into work. The job satisfaction we get from knowing we are helping people locally across South Yorkshire find employment is second to none.”

His business partner Ian Leadbeater added: “We renewed for another five years because of the potential for further growth. Driver Hire as a whole recently won HSBC bfa ‘Franchisor of the Year’ award. This is a great accolade for us. The recent investment in the network with a new database system, a new website, ongoing Driver CPC training and Driver Hire’s Licence Checking service only reinforced the easy decision it was to renew our franchise agreement.”

Current HSBC bfa ‘Franchisor of the Year’, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to businesses and organisations across the whole of the UK. They help when customers need extra staff to deal with holidays, illness or business expansion.
