Franchisee case study: from cooking to computers

The PC PAL franchise has announced that local man and former chef Phil Dawson from Loughborough has launched his new PC PAL franchise business, which provides mobile computer repairs to homes and small firms. Phil recently changed his career to provide this essential ’emergency service’ to frustrated PC users in the Loughborough and Melton Mowbray areas.

According to the information provided, Phil originally set about gaining professional catering qualifications as well as working as a chef in a local hotel. However, after giving it a lot of thought he decided that, rather than spend his time fixing meals, he’d prefer to focus his attention on fixing computers instead.

He had always had a passion for working with computers, was already constantly fixing them for friends and family and knew he would always want to be doing this whether he got paid for it or not. So the obvious route was to find an opportunity where he could use his skills by doing something he loved, and make a successful business out of it at the same time. That was what led him to The PC PAL Computer Franchise.

“I was impressed by the level of response and support offered by PC PAL, and knew that it was a much safer option to start a new business this way, than to risk any amount of start-up capital on my own,? Phil explained.

Phil went through rigorous training before launching his franchise business and is now a fully qualified Microsoft Certified Professional and also has the CompTIA A+ Certification for hardware.

“As I also carry a comprehensive range of spare parts and diagnostic tools it means I can fix 99% of problems on the spot in people’s homes or offices which reduces the inconvenience to the customer of having to take the PC out to another location,? added Phil.

PC PAL are, the company explains, fighting back against rogue computer firms and shops who either are not qualified, insured or who offer a shoddy service. As its customers have previously testified, some unscrupulous firms are recommending work which does not need to be carried out, misdiagnosing altogether or even installing illegal software.

Phil is now looking forward to the challenge of building a successful business and being recognised as providing an excellent and much-in-demand service in the local community.
