Australia’s “most loved gym” opens five UK gyms in 12 months, with two new franchises to launch this autumn.

Jetts Fitness Franchise

Australian health and fitness chain Jetts Fitness has opened its fifth UK club, Jetts Skipton, just 12 months since entering the UK fitness market in September 2017.

Jetts’ Skipton franchise joins existing clubs in Portsmouth, Erdington, Stockport and Wigan, with two further franchisee-owned sites set to launch this autumn, as part of the 24/7 gym chain’s UK growth strategy.

Founded in 2007 on Australia’s Gold Coast by husband and wife team Brendon and Cristy Levenson, Jetts Fitness quickly established itself in the Australian market by expanding rapidly through a franchise model and now has over 210 sites in Australia alone, with presence also in New Zealand, Thailand and Netherlands, alongside the UK.

The gym chain’s success is underpinned by the ‘Workout on your terms’ philosophy at the heart of all of its facilities, ensuring members maximum flexibility with 24/7 access, no lock-in contracts and access to all Jetts gyms worldwide at any time.

In the UK, Jetts also leads with its ‘Train in quality’ tag line that members across the country are reaping the benefits from. No overcrowding through capped memberships means that gym goers can maximise their time on the quality fitness equipment and, unique to the UK, Jetts’ 30-minute class programme j30 capitalises on the popularity of small group training and further enhances its offering to members.

With a member proposition that aims to differentiate in what is an ever-competitive fitness industry, Jetts also intends to offer something unique to the franchise market, as Jetts Fitness UK Director James Garner explains: “We want to make a difference to the lives of our members and to the communities that we operate in and we only do this by adopting a true partnership approach with our franchisees; supporting them every step of the way, and working together to realise the benefits of being a part of a growing network.”

One of the ways in which Jetts sets itself apart is its policy regarding territories. Jetts franchisees aren’t locked into small geographical areas but are given a bigger territory in comparison to other gym franchises within which to source the best possible site, backed by extensive support from Jetts UK’s Central team.

James is also open about Jetts’ selective approach to finding franchisees; “We want the best people heading up our gyms and our franchisees are chosen based on a wide range of criteria, so you know that you are joining a group of like-minded, driven individuals that are as passionate about the brand and its values as we are.”

The success of the model in other countries has also facilitated multi-gym ownership, with many franchisees owning upwards from three or more sites.

For Josh White, owner of the new Skipton club, Jetts was his first experience of franchising. “We’ve been really impressed by the support we’ve received from the Jetts UK Central team; right from the very beginning when we were looking at sites, utilising their experience and expertise and being part of a company with a proven track record has given us the best possible start into business and we’re excited to be a part of a brand with ambitious growth plans.”
