Domestic cleaning firm, Merry Maids of Sutton Coldfield, which is part of national franchisor ServiceMaster, is celebrating its 15th year in business. Owned and operated by local businesswomen, Helen Cook (33) and Becky Hewitt (31), the company employs 12 members of staff and serves customers in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield, Tamworth and Walsall.

The franchise was originally owned by Helen’s mother, Sheila, who bought the business in 1999 and was purchased in 2011 by Helen and Becky, who have continued to trade successfully. The business offers regular weekly, fortnightly and four-weekly cleaning programmes as well as one-off special ‘Spring Cleans’ to residents and has been cleaning for one of its clients, Miss Brown of Sutton Coldfield for 15 years.

Miss Brown commented: “I’ve used Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield for 15 years now and every clean is exceptional. The girls come and go but the professional, reliable and personal service remains the same. I wish them both well for the next 15 years!”

Helen and Becky said: “We are extremely proud to be celebrating our 15th anniversary this year. Not many small companies get to this stage and to have weathered the recent economic crisis so well is a real result for us. We put our success down to our focus on customer satisfaction. The team is well trained and efficient in its work but our aim has always been to make the customer happy and it always will be.”

To celebrate the milestone, Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield is sponsoring Lichfield Proms in Beacon Park in September and the whole team and customers alike will be raising a glass to the sounds of Land of Hope and Glory and fireworks.
