Merry Maids brand operations manager and local Rotarian from Grantham, Catriona Berry and her husband Peter, have returned after joining fellow Rotarians for National Immunisation Day in India to immunise thousands of children against Polio.
Catriona said: “When we arrived in, there was a procession through the slum areas to let people know that the immunisation program was starting. Over the week, across India more than 172 million children were reached in cities and in harder to reach places too. The work we were doing was so well received and really does save lives.”
Catriona traveled to India with the Rotary Club and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
