NPL4Kids Shortlisted for Hertfordshire Business Awards

NLP4Kids team are happy to announce that we have been shortlisted for the Hertfordshire Business Awards 2016. A week of hard work, entering six categories for our two companies has resulted in our director being shortlisted for “Business Person of the Year” and one of the companies for “Online Innovator of the Year”.

On 17th October, we received a call from Sarah Foster who was glad to announce that we had been shortlisted for an award. We were so surprised and happy with this achievement. However, an half hour later, we had another call to say that we have been shortlisted for another award!

On the 20th October, we received a call from Chris Watts who is a Business Development Manager. Chris informed us that he was judging the “Business Person of the Year” award and that he would be coming to the office on Monday morning to visit me. On Monday morning, Chris arrived with Ian Taylor who works for Barclays. They asked lots of questions about the three companies and how they had evolved into a glowing success. They seem very interested in our new book and Ian couldn’t leave the office without a copy in his hands.

Whilst explaining how it was hard to start a company without any financial backing or money in the bank, I felt that this award would be a really meaningful one to achieve. It was a symbol that the chances and risks that I had taken in the beginning were all worth it and it would symbolise my achievement and those of the rest of the team.

I also received another visit from the judges who were in charge of the “Online Innovator of the Year” for People Building Ltd. I discussed our ‘People Building Members Club’ which is a subscription-based facility where members can log into from a button on top of the main website. I also discussed my promotional strategy on how I offer customers six free CD’s and a free month’s membership trial. I explained how we regulate the social media sites to promote our events and trainings. People Building has it’s own twitter account (@peoplebuilding), facebook, and YouTube Channel and has an incredible website of resources from monthly articles to different trainings courses as well as our members only club.

On the 24th November, we have been invited to the Hertfordshire Business Awards ceremony where the winners will be announce on the night. This will gives us an opportunity to meet other local businesses who have been successful in the awards and have also progressed in their company.
