Promedica24 (West Sussex) Forms Sponsorship to Combat Loneliness

A live-in care provider based in West Sussex has forged new links within the community, forming a new sponsorship partnership with The Glamour Club for 2019.

The Glamour Club was founded in 2018 by Janice Moth, director of It Socks to be Lonely, and aims to combat loneliness through themed parties.

According to Age UK, 1.2 million people in England are chronically lonely, making it a much talked about issue across the UK.

Chris-White Smith, regional partner at live-in care provider Promedica24, is passionate about tackling loneliness and social isolation in West Sussex and the wider communities.

He said: “Companionship and keeping in touch with friends and those in the community are crucial to living a fulfilled and happy life. We’re delighted to be supporting The Glamour Club with their themed events. We hope it’s the start of some flourishing friendships in the community.”

The partnership will support Promedica24’s ethos of reducing loneliness within communities and supporting change locally and nationally, and is one of many community-based activities that the live-in care provider has got involved in across the country.

To celebrate the new sponsorship, Promedica24 contributed towards The Glamour Club’s Christmas party, which provided live music by Karen Etherington and songs from the 1940’s through to the 1960’s.

Talking about the Christmas Party, Chris-White Smith, added: “The event was a fantastic success, with many promising to return to future parties planned for this year. Our next event is a Valentine’s Day special in February.”
