Road Safety Competition Success Delights Recognition Express

Recognition Express, Europe’s leading supplier of corporate recognition products, has been inundated with nearly 700 entries from primary schools across the country, in response to its Design A Road Safety Mug competition, run in partnership with Brake, the road safety charity behind Road Safety Week (23-29 November 2009).

After much deliberation Nigel Toplis and his judging team at Recognition Express Headquarters in Coalville, Leicestershire, have managed to select the 12 winners.

Nigel said: “We are thrilled with the quantity and quality of entries.  The children really seem to understand the importance of staying safe near roads and their pictures and poems express the message in such a creative and wonderful way.  Selecting the winners was really hard.”

The winners* range in age from 5 – 11 and have been selected from primary schools across England, Wales and Scotland.  The winning designers will receive their own personalised mug and the schools will receive a box of 36 mugs carrying the winning design, along with 250 high visibility slap wraps – great for keeping children safe on their way to and from school.

Each school is being presented with their prizes by their local Recognition Express during Road Safety Week (23-29 November).

Katie Shephard, Fundraising Manager at Brake, said: “Brake is delighted that Recognition Express is supporting national Road Safety Week. The response to the competition has been overwhelming and we’d like to congratulate all the children who took part.  We’d urge all teachers and parents to use the week as an opportunity to teach their children road safety to help keep them safe by the road side.”
