Rena’s career was financial planning and buying for retail for eighteen years. There was a step change eight years ago into executive mindset coaching where she worked with senior business leaders and their teams.

Rena enabled conscious leaders to accelerate their businesses in a way that allows purpose, people, planet and profit to collectively thrive.

With her success in executive coaching, what inspired Rena to start a Seniors Helping Seniors?

Rena says “I experienced over-worked, under-paid care agencies, that were doing their best under the very difficult, under-funded circumstances when I needed to find care for my mother and it left me feeling reflective and saddened at the level and quality of home-care support that was available.”

Sally and Christian Wilse who own and manage Seniors Helping Seniors UK say “Reports this month of the worsening national crisis in social care – waiting lists more than 6 months long impacting peoples’ health outcomes and adding to pressures within every aspect of the NHS – have led to a surge in enquiries from people wanting to start a Seniors Helping Seniors.”

Rena talks of the desperate need for improvements in the home-care sector, and for the elders of our society to be valued, supported, and cared for in a kind, compassionate and respectful way.

She shares, “When I came across Seniors Helping Seniors, it was very clear to me that this home-care company is special. Disrupting the way the sector usually does things.”

Rena says “Seniors Helping Seniors prioritise differently to every other care company I’ve found. The focus is on a service that is centred on the customer, offering flexibility and carefully matching carer to client. The client will have the right carer, at the right time, to suit their needs. “

The company is the only care company to focus solely on people ‘s needs for work as they age and it can attract outstanding carers in sufficient numbers to fulfil the demand for care because society is ageing, and people are working longer.

Carers enjoy flexible working so they can choose their hours. Seniors Helping Seniors won the champion award for the care sector in 2021 from the Real Living Wage foundation for paying above the real living wage and how they support their carers.

Being accepted by the Good Business Charter as a company doing business the right way is another key differentiator and Rena says she is “proud to extend this experience into East Sussex and my area is very receptive. “
