Lucy Williams originally joined Ed’s as an Operator in 2009. Having built up a really strong gardening business, she was loving what she was doing but the call of a new adventure beckoned. In the summer of 2013 Lucy decided to sell her business, made a very good return on investment, and moved to Bali!

In Lucy’s words, ”When I was running my Ed’s business I was lucky enough to have the freedom (and the cash!) to visit Bali several times. I really loved it and wanted to move out there for a while. I knew it wouldn’t be a forever thing but it was something I just had to do. I had grown a lot in confidence in my time with Ed’s and I’d found out that I am actually really good at challenges, so I just went for it. “

Lucy went on to have a brilliant time living in Bali and recently decided it was time to “get back to real life” so she moved back to the UK.

“I’m setting up a business which takes up one to two days a week and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with the rest of my time. I phoned up Ed’s to see if any work was going as I honestly couldn’t think of something I’d rather do than get back into the gardens. As luck would have it, there was an opportunity within the network to buy an Ed’s business in Bracknell. After careful consideration I jumped at the opportunity.”

Lucy has only just got her gardening gloves back on again but is raring to go, to build her second empire!

She says, “I’m so thrilled about this new phase. I feel very lucky to be able to do a job I absolutely love and also to have the freedom to shape my life as I am doing. Joining Ed’s again is a bit of a no brainer – if I went and employed someone to create websites, offer excellent training, answer the phone it would cost a lot more than the price of the fees; and they are fixed unlike lots of other franchises.

“I know exactly what I’ve just signed up for, having done it before. I do plan to do things a bit differently as there is serious value to focusing on building good quality regular customers and splitting the business when I’m ready. I am so excited about this opportunity and I’m going into it with my eyes wide open!”
