1. Energy

This is the basic requirement of life. The energy content (measured in calories) is determined by how much of the first three elements; protein, fat and carbohydrates are contained in the food. In all Husse foods, we carefully calculate and add the right amount of energy required for your pet, too little content can lead to a lack of energy, too much energy content can lead to weight problems and obesity.

2 – Protein
Husse uses unusually high proportions of human grade animal protein which has a higher digestibility rate and contains all the essential amino acids to help promote healthy growth during puppy stage and optimal maintenance during adult and senior stages.

3 – Minerals
Husse has a healthy balance of Calcium and Phosphorous for stronger bones and skeletal structure. It also contains minerals such as Zn, Se, Fe, Na and Cl – which all have fundamental roles in the structure of hormones and enzymes to provide optimal metabolism for all organs in the pet’s body.

4 – Vitamins
Vitamins are organic substances required by the body in minute amounts as essential enzymes, enzyme precursors, or coenzymes for many of the body’s metabolic processes. Most vitamins cannot be synthesized by the body and need to be supplied with the food in sufficient quantities. Husse dog foods have the optimal amount of both fat and water soluble vitamins for the wellbeing of dogs.

5 – Carbohydrates and digestible starch
Carbohydrates typically make up anywhere from 30 to 70 percent of a dry dog food. They derive mainly from plants and grains, and provide energy in the form of sugars. Carbohydrates have several important functions in dog food including providing energy, giving structure and texture to the kibble and providing the necessary fibre to a diet. All dry foods made by Husse are extruded under high heat and pressure resulting in the Carbohydrates and starch transformed into highly digestible nutrients so the dog can fully benefit from the highest digestibility Carbohydrate and fibre content.

6 – Fibre
Fibre is not considered an ‘essential’ nutrient for dogs, but can have excellent benefits if used in reasonable amounts. Fibre helps prevent constipation and may also help reduce the risk of colon cancer. A good fibre diet helps manage weight and helps reduce tartar formation on the teeth and promotes healthy mouth hygiene. Husse dry foods have the optimal amount of fibre offering all of these benefits. Our range of hypo-allergic products contain a mix of vegetable fibre which reduces the amount of faeces by approx 20%.

7 – Production method
Husse products are produced in a High-tech factory in Europe which is certified by the International Food Standard (IFS). Husse is the first European pet food to be granted a DA import licence.

8 – Joint care
Husse’s dry foods for larger breeds, puppies, and senior dogs, are supplemented with Chondroitin and Glucosamine. These supplements are used to help strengthen components of the cartilage in the joints, help keep the cartilage intact, and help reduce the risk of the development of arthritis.

9 – Optimal immunity

Husse products contain Mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) for optimal gut immunity. MOS inhibits the adhesion of pathogenic bacteria to the gut wall and reduces the risk of diarrhoea.
Husse dry foods are supplemented with Carotenoids (Luteine and beta-carotene) which help improve immunity. Carotenoids are natural pigments in plants which act as provitamin A and anti-oxydatives (cell protection) and help improve immunity, resistance to disease, vision and eye-function

10 – Flora Stimule
Husse dry pet foods are supplemented with the prebiotic FOS (fructo-oligosaccarides). FOS increases the number of beneficial bacteria in the intestine which in turn increases the absorption of nutrients in the intestine.

11 – Heart care
Taurin, which is a sulfur amino acid present in animal products, has been added to Husse dry food products for larger breeds and senior dogs. Taurin is an important component for heart muscle function and prevention of heart disease.

12 – Omega-3 & Omega-6
Omega-3 and Omega-6 sourced from fresh salmon oil and vegetable oil have been added to Husse’s dry food products to improve the condition of the dog’s hair and coat along with the function of the following organs: heart, joints, brain, muscles, the immune system, intestines and kidneys.

13 – Various kibble sizes
Husse’s dry dog food is produced in various kibble sizes to suite the breed’s jaw size, this helps maximise cleaning of the teeth and helps prevent the dog from swallowing the kibble before it has been properly runched up.
