Wok&Go opens its doors at Wolverhampton's i10

Wok&Go opened its doors for business at the city’s award-winning i10 office and retail development on Saturday 7th January.

The UK’s number one noodle bar chain continues to grow globally and has taken over one of the retail units on the ground floor.

Ten jobs have been created, in addition to the 70 jobs delivered so far by fellow i10 ground floor businesses Greene King, Superdrug and Kaspa’s Desserts.

The multi-million pound showpiece i10 building next to the train station was completed in December 2015 and forms part of the city’s £132 million Interchange plans.

Wok&Go was established in 2007, delivering fresh food on-site by skilled chefs that captures a love of the taste, aromas and overall experience of Asian dining in New York City.

Wok&Go Managing Director, Des Pheby, said: “The location of i10 is ideal for us and being next to the bus and train stations will provide good footfall. A lot of investment is being made in Wolverhampton and it seems like a good time to open a branch there.

“We have opened in similar places up and down the country, like Hull, and feel the concept will go down well in the city, particularly with the thousands of students.”

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, added: “The addition of Wok&Go gives us a strong collection of retail and food outlets at i10. Their presence enhances the city offering and provides further jobs for the people of Wolverhampton.

“More than £992 million of investment in the city centre is either on site or in the pipeline and i10 is a shining example what that investment is delivering.”

As well as encouraging more investment and boosting prosperity in the city, i10 forms part of the gateway to the city for people arriving off the national rail network, by bus or Metro.

Wider development to come this year will see work start on a new state-of-the-art railway station and the Metro line extension, which will include a new stop at the station.

The refurbished and extended railway station car park will open on Sunday, January 8, and the new bus station is already in use.
