For the second year running Recognition Express Coventry is supporting young athletes from Coventry and Warwickshire, by providing them with special team ‘hoodies’ to celebrate their CAP Bursary Scheme awards.

Recognition Express Coventry is a leading supplier of corporate gifts, promotional products, badges and branded clothing, and owner Alex Newman, said:

“We are really enthusiastic about supporting these young sportsmen and women.  With the Olympics only two years away it’s exciting to think that some of them may be selected to represent the country, and we hope the hoodies help to enhance their sense of being a part of something really special.”

Will Bastin, Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership assistant for the 2012 Games, said:

“On behalf of the partners involved in the CAP bursary programme, we would like to thank the generosity and support of Recognition Express in providing the hoodies for the CAP athletes. Once again, this support has added huge value to the scheme and the athletes were all very pleased!”

CAP, now in its third year, is a bursary scheme that provides support to talented athletes from across the sub-region. The bursaries are funded by Warwickshire County Council, Coventry City Council, the Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership for the 2012 Games and are supported by CSW Sport.

The scheme forms part of a local London 2012 project, Team Coventry and Warwickshire, which aims to offer provision and support for young talented athletes to reach their full sporting potential. The funding is used by athletes to assist their development by covering some of the costs associated with their sports including coaching, equipment, travel and competition entry fees.
