Company Overview

Established in 1995, TaxAssist Accountants has established a network of almost 200 franchise areas providing a comprehensive range of professional tax and accountancy services to small businesses – sole traders, partnerships and limited companies with a turnover of up to £2 million. Our network services over 52,500 clients and has gross annual recurring fees in excess of £35 million. Our franchisees receive full training and support to enable them to launch, build and manage their own business. We take on accountants as well as senior finance and business professionals. You do not need to be a fully-qualified accountant because you would employ and manage accountants allowing you the freedom to focus on all other areas of business.

Franchise Overview

We have no company-owned outlets or any other source of income, our focus is 100% on franchisee development and we have won numerous industry awards (franchise and accountancy) to demonstrate the strength of our model. With the potential for 400 franchisees across the UK we have new opportunities nationwide and resales available. We are expanding internationally with the success of Ireland we now have one master franchise in Canada. Our next countries we are looking to expand to are Australia, New Zealand and the USA.

Training

Each franchisee receives 43 days training in the first 6 months which includes technical, practice management, marketing,  business development and our nurture programme which is hosted by our in house training academy. The initial training course lasts six weeks and is residential at our support centre in Norwich. All training fees, meals and accommodation are included in the franchise fee. Further training is available to franchisees and their staff, both in Norwich and regionally.

Daily Life of a Franchisee

You will be networking with small businesses and business referral partners to generate leads locally, along with following up on enquiries generated via national advertising. Business development will be your initial focus! You will also be building a team of employees, who will be responsible for accounts production, and managing the practice to ensure that it is run in a profitable and compliant manner.

Stay local, work local, support local

Take control of your future by running your own TaxAssist Accountants practice

Help your local economy thrive and take a central role in shaping your small business community. Offering much more than just accountancy services, you’ll become an invaluable trusted advisor to small business owners – and have a real impact on their lives and livelihoods.

At the same time as improving their lives, improve yours too by waving goodbye to long commutes, late nights and work life dominating personal life.

“I started my own business with TaxAssist Accountants because I get a buzz from helping small businesses succeed.”

Lloyd Evans, TaxAssist Accountants Kingswinford

WITH TAXASSIST ACCOUNTANTS YOU WILL BE IN BUSINESS FOR YOURSELF, NOT BY YOURSELF

Starting your own business with TaxAssist Accountants means you will have a proven business model to follow. Everything is mapped out for you, including all you need to set up your new business, a comprehensive six-week initial course, and ongoing training and support for both you and your team of accountants and advisors.

Work ON your business: your role as business owner is to lead your team and build client relationships for your practice.

Manage your team: start in your first shop with one accountant and grow your business to two or more shops with small teams.

Enjoy the rewards: make plans for your business and lifestyle, follow the model, and achieve your personal and professional ambitions.

SIX KEY REASONS PEOPLE INVEST WITH TAXASSIST ACCOUNTANTS

  1. Clicks and mortar model: Combining digital accountancy with trusted face-to-face advisors
  2. Leave corporate behind: Forget the politics and stress, work with small businesses
  3. Autonomy: Lead from the front and take control of your life
  4. Build an asset: Proven higher multiple on resale thanks to the strength of our brand
  5. Future-proof: We keep franchisees ahead of the digital revolution in accounting
  6. Unique ownership: Franchisees own c.40% of the franchisor, ensuring joint development

ADAPTING TO CHANGE IN 2020

In the most turbulent times the UK economy has seen for decades, TaxAssist franchisees have increased their stature in their local business communities thanks to unsurpassed levels of support and communication.

When coronavirus brought small business grinding to a halt, our Support Centre team worked tirelessly to ensure franchisees continually had correct and up-to-date information to meet their clients’ requests for help.

“I always believed that the back-up of the Support Centre would be both reassuring and an invaluable asset that most sole practitioners can never experience. Indeed, this has always been the case but never more so than now. They have been absolutely brilliant and I would be amazed if any other accountancy organisation has got anywhere close to delivering what they have.”

Nick Sims, TaxAssist Accountants Devizes and Chippenham

“We have had fantastic feedback from many of our clients saying how useful this information has been, telling us other accountants have not offered the same service, which in turn has helped us stand out. We really are so grateful and cannot praise the Norwich team enough.”

Brian Molyneux, TaxAssist Accountants Banbury & Bicester

A UNIQUE FRANCHISING RELATIONSHIP

Our ownership structure is unique within franchising. The business is part-owned by franchisees (c.40%) and new franchisees have the opportunity to not only join a successful franchise network, but also to buy a stake in the business via shares if they choose.

Through a formal shareholder voting system, this ownership structure allows franchisees to have their say on major strategic decisions affecting the Group.

SUPPORTING YOU & YOUR BUSINESS ON YOUR JOURNEY WITH TAXASSIST ACCOUNTANTS

Your business will have the marketing power of a global brand. Our proven lead generation service delivers the right prospects to grow your fee bank, while your own responsive website and Google Ads campaigns increase your visibility locally.

Our Training Academy keeps you and your staff ahead of the curve. Bespoke training and technical support is delivered when you and your team need it to help ensure your business remains the local market leader, operating to the highest professional standards.

We’re proud to have been awarded 5 Star Franchisee Satisfaction for seven consecutive years, based on an independent and anonymous survey of our franchisees. We’re a longstanding Full Member of the bfa and a multi-award-winning brand.

If you have ambition, commercial acumen and you’re looking for a successful and proven business model to achieve your goals, then get in touch to begin the process of due diligence. We’re running Discovery Days and personal meetings via Zoom, both proving highly successful at getting you the information you need.
