Home Instead Senior Care

Company Overview
Franchise Overview
Home Instead Senior Care is a provider of non-medical at-home care for older people enabling them to remain in the comfort of their own homes. It provides flexible services tailored to the needs of each client, which include personal care, home help and companionship. The care in the home sector is growing and due to our ageing population this looks set to continue. Home Instead is increasingly a very relevant business not only for now but for the future.Training

From day one franchisees receive dedicated support starting with an initial 180-day bespoke training programme. There is then ongoing business development and care training for franchisees and their teams. Home Instead’s quality of care is matched by the quality of support given to its franchises, with a 5:1 ratio of national office staff to franchisee. Support includes business development, marketing, care standards, financial management and IT support. Franchisees also share best practice.Full Description
Become part of the UK’s number 1 home care franchise network
Run a profitable business whilst making a difference at the same time
Imagine being able to run a business that gives you great financial returns but also gives you the opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives in the community you look after. Well there is no more need for imagination, the Home Instead Senior Care franchise opportunity offers exactly that.
Home Instead Senior Care is the first homecare provider to receive 3 Outstanding Ratings from the Care Quality Commission and became the first homecare provider to receive an Outstanding Rating in London in February 2016. It has been rated No.1 11 times running in the Laing & Buisson Care Compliance Monitor. It is also a leading franchisor with many accolades for outstanding support.
Home Instead Senior Care has established its model of providing high-quality, non-medical care to older people in the comfort of their own homes. Its success is built on an outstanding reputation, respected ethics and a proven global franchise model within which ‘caring entrepreneurs’ have a blueprint for success.
Be part of a growing market
It is common knowledge that nearly everyone will want to remain in their own home during their later years. Couple this with the fact that the UK population is ageing, with people living longer and dementia on the increase, and this means that the need for quality homecare is more relevant and important than ever.
With the current care sector being built on task-based care, as opposed to personalised care, there is a significant gap in the market. With a Home Instead franchise you will be operating in a market that has high demand but within a model that is focused on delivering a premium service to the client – something that is rarely available.
A business model with a difference
Home Instead’s global and proven franchise model operates in 17 countries worldwide and involves 1,000 franchisees. We are the pioneers of relationship-led care, with clients benefiting from a service that is delivered when they want it and by who they want. The standard of care that is delivered to clients is by far recognised as the best in the industry, with our model being used often as an example of what quality care looks like. You don’t need any care experience to run a franchise with Home Instead. Your role as a franchise owner is to be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day business operations, you would then employ a team of people who would help in the delivery of the care itself.
Industry leading training and support
Home Instead’s franchisee training is unrivalled and totally dedicated to enabling franchisees to be successful. With a focused and bespoke 180-day training and development programme, followed by ongoing support from the business development, marketing, care, quality, finance, IT and standards teams, a franchisee is never unsupported. The fact there is a 4:1 ratio of franchise offices to national office employees demonstrates Home Instead’s commitment to the continuous training and development of its franchisees.
Financial rewards
Home Instead franchisees are rewarded for their hard work and commitment to changing the face of ageing. The initial investment is between £90,000-£110,000, to cover the franchise fee, the set-up costs, employee recruitment and the working capital to get the business to break even (18 months). There is also an ongoing royalty fee of 6.5% of annual turnover, excluding VAT. By years 3-4, it is typical for a Home Instead franchise business to have a £1 million turnover and operating profits of 15-20%.
Awards a plenty
Home Instead has a host of awards, including the ultimate accolade of the Gold Award at the 2013 British Franchise Association Franchisor of the Year Awards and the 2015 British Franchise Association Customer Focus award. Individual franchisees have also been recognised through top awards, winning titles such as British Franchise Association Franchisee of the Year. Awards have also recognised the quality of care delivered as well as Home Instead’s marketing and PR campaigns. This award haul is second-to-none in the UK homecare market and distinguishes Home Instead from other homecare providers.
Franchisee satisfaction
We have a 5 Star rating hat-trick in the Smith & Henderson Franchisee Satisfaction Survey. We received the highest possible rating from the market research company for 3 consecutive years in 2013, 2014 and 2015. 5 Star Franchisee Satisfaction from Smith & Henderson helps leading franchisors stand out from the competition. The 5 Star rating demonstrates that our franchisees are highly satisfied with our business model and operations and are truly engaged with the Home Instead brand and all it stands for.
Peer support, one of the benefits of being a franchisee with Home Instead
One of the benefits of being part of a franchise network is the sharing of best practice. There are now over 175 franchisees operating throughout the UK who are all willing to pass on their experiences. As we are now 10 years old in the UK we have very strong brand awareness, often franchisees will open the business and have client enquiries on day 1. Home Instead recognises the value of peer support and facilitates the sharing of best practice and collaboration through technology, at national conferences, and also encourages franchisees to engage in local owners groups.
Your territory
Every Home Instead franchisee operates a carefully mapped territory which has at least 25,000 residents aged over 65. We have over 175 passionate franchisees in the field to date, with 145 territories available in the UK. With active networking out in the community, to make the right contacts and create links with charities, community groups and other stakeholders, a franchisee can flourish within their territory, regardless of where that is based geographically. We also currently have a number of territory resale opportunities throughout the UK.
Home Instead is the market leader in private homecare, operating with limited competition. This makes a Home Instead franchise a wonderful business opportunity, for people who want to run a successful business that makes a difference at the same time.
