Select has been franchising since 1992, but the company has been a respected recruiter since 1980. There are 30 franchise offices currently in operation throughout the UK and we have aspirations to develop this to a 100-location network over the next 5 years. 

Franchise Overview

The entry-level franchise package is the Office Home model, which offers new Select franchisees the flexibility to work from a home-based office specialising in permanent vacancy recruitment only. Office Plus comprises the franchisee plus one other recruitment consultant working from a low-cost serviced office, handling both temporary and permanent assignments. Option three is the Office 400 model which involves an owner/manager with a team of recruiters providing temporary and permanent recruitment services in an area which has been mapped and researched to have a prospective client base to sustain the target income required. Finally, for people running their own recruitment business Select has designed the Office Advance package, which will enable business owners to convert to the Select Appointments brand and access their growth accelerator programmes. 

Training

We provide a detailed training calendar that covers modules from initial induction for new starters in your team followed by a series of development workshops/modules throughout the year, through to REC-certified qualifications. We also provide each new partner with a copy of our comprehensive guidance and operations manual, ‘Recruitment. As it should be’, which is your detailed route map to the effective and efficient running of your new business.

Daily Life of a Franchisee

You will be predominately working with small to medium size businesses as clients and a wide variety of candidates who are looking for jobs, focusing on building and maintaining relationships through regular communication with both groups. You will need to balance this with the responsibilities of leading a team and the essential management of the business which you would run from a serviced office or high street location.

Select Appointments is a white collar recruitment agency franchise with 34 franchised territories in operation throughout the UK.

It was established in 1980 and began franchising in 1992. Today Select forms part of the Staffline Group plc, a London Stock Exchange AIM listed company and one of the UK’s biggest and most successful recruitment businesses.

One of the greatest strengths of our network is the diversity of our franchise owners. As you might expect we have franchisees who have spent their entire career in recruitment. In fact some were successful branch managers with Select before deciding to take on the business for themselves.

Equally we have very successful franchisees who had never worked in the industry before. Two of our most recent franchise owners came to us from financial services and are now building a Select Appointments recruitment agency in that very business sector.

Office Plus

  • This is a low cost operating model, enabling you to provide both temporary and permanent recruitment solutions from a serviced office.
  • Typically this will begin with you, the franchise owner, plus two consultants.
  • Our Plus one approach allows you to grow and expand your business, as your client base expands, by adding an additional consultant to your business. This method puts you in control of costs and profit maximisation.
  • Initial franchise fee £14,750 plus VAT.
  • Phased Management fee.
  • Estimated earning potential £150k to £250k gross profit per annum.
