The celebrations kicked off on Friday with a Gazebo on Argyll street, “Mannie”, the stores coffee cup mascot, offered free lunches and balloons to passers by.

The opening itself heralded a large queue of customers all eager to try the unique offerings of Triple Two Coffee. Highlighting the personal touch that all Triple Two Stores are known for, The Store Manager, John Paterson, personally greeted each customer and helped them understand the food and drink offerings of the store as they lined up ready to order.

Why we chose leaflet marketing at the forefront of our campaign:

Over the last 10 – 15 years, a huge surge in online related marketing solutions has seemingly brought to questions the effectiveness, relevancy and costs of leaflet marketing.

When tackled with the question on how to approach a population with a fantastic food and beverage offering that no one knows about, leafleting remains for us as one of the most effective tools for marketing our stores. This approach in conjunction with our online marketing allowed our store to be at the forefront of peoples minds leading up to the launch. Our aim with leafleting was to engage all the senses of the local community, a tactile pitch, clearly displayed offerings and easy to read contact details.

We used a combination of our Mascot and a friendly celebratory atmosphere in order to become more approachable and put the brand at the forefront of shoppers minds just before our 12pm launch.

The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) website reports that “as many as 79% of recipients either keep, pass on to a friend, or glance over the contents of a leaflet distribution item.”

If you compare these figures to other forms of marketing, if used correctly leaflet marketing can be extremely effective. Leafleting has proven to be one of the most affordable and effective strategies when we open our new stores, over 65% of our first 3 days transactions are a direct result of receiving promotional material from our leaflet campaign.

As each site has unique marketing challenges to overcome our Stockwell store is no different. The store is situated just off one of the busiest streets in Glasgow, Argyle Street.

Our approach was to use the footfall from Argyle street to inform and ultimatly redirect shoppers to the store. By setting up our Gazebo within viewing distance of the store our team were able to visually aid shoppers with directions providing shoppers with a tangible look at the store before they decided to go there.

The brand, making its start in Swindon, Wiltshire back in 2016 was, as you’d expect relatively unknown to the Glaswegian population. Capturing the attention of customers through our street celebrations was paramount to the success of the launch.

The brand itself known for it’s quality fresh food and “Awesome Coffee” is all about letting the product speak for itself. With the celebrations of the opening continuing all week with £1 coffee, and vouchers available, the store is serving arguably one of the best coffee’s in Glasgow at one of the best prices!
